Buenos Aires is the capital and largest city of Argentina, with three million inhabitants in the urban core and a metropolitan area, Greater Buenos Aires, which surpasses ten million.
The city of Buenos Aires was founded twice: in 1536, the Spanish colonizer Pedro Mendoza and then in 1580, after being destroyed by the Indian populations.
